Fat grafting can be used in many parts of our body for aesthetic purposes. With aging, the volume loss of the midface, hollows in the upper and lower eyelids, collapse in the temples are observed. The volume losses in these areas can be treated with fat grafting, either separately or together, with face or periorbital aesthetics. In addition, fat grafting can be used in other areas of the face, such as defining the jaw contour and enlarging the jaw, treating sunken forehead, and lip and nose filling.
Fat grafting is also used in other body parts. It can be used as a breast filler, butt filler, interior leg filler in parental leg deformity and for shoulder augmentation in men. The fat tissue is also the most abundant tissue of mesenchymal stem cells in the body.
This technique is performed by injecting fats into wrinkles on the skin with thin needles and not through the cannula. It is also called filling up of wrinkles.
Nanofat is not a fat-filling method. The stem cell-rich nanofat solution can be used to improve skin quality in areas where tissue regeneration and rejuvenation is desired or in appropriate patients (for example, in the treatment of dark circles under the eye or in patients with multiple rhinoplasty at other centers with impaired skin).
The stem cell is a type of source cell that can develop into multiple different cell types. The stem cells used in aesthetic surgery are mesenchymal stem cells. Contrary to popular belief, PRP is not a stem cell method. Stem cell preparation is made possible by harvesting and processing the adipose tissue in the operating room and laboratory of GMP standards, respectively. The difference of the stem cell technique from the nanofat process is that a greater number and concentration of stem cells can be obtained. They can be used to improve skin quality by tissue regeneration and rejuvenation.
